I frequent this hole-in-the-wall pizza joint often for lunch. Not sure why all the negative reviews, I'm very picky with pizza and think this place is awesome. I grab two slices of pepperoni, a drink and a few garlic rolls and I am good to go. I think the quality of the pizza is great - very tasty. The garlic rolls are sooo garlicy and just awesome little balls of dough (just chew gum afterward so no one has to smell your garlic breath...). I think this is a fantastic pizza place and I'll certainly be back often because I happen to work right down the street and like to stop by Monti's for pizza either at the restaurant or to go to eat back at my office.

I have tried 4 times. Really- how bad can a slice of pizza be? Well, if you order 2 slices, one with mushrooms and 1 with sausage, and it takes 15 mins to come out, you have a previously cooked plain cheese pizza that has been heavily covered by your topping, with a scant 1/8 cup fresh cheese sprinkled on top that is dry, hard and cold under the cheese. Seriously. Why did you try it 4 times, you may ask? Well, hope springs eternal. I always ordered it and picked up and htought that was the problem. Then I went and ate in, and that was what came out. They offer a lunch special for $5.50 of 2 slices and a soda, but if you order 2 slices ($2.50 a slice plus a topping $.50) they don'y say- hey we have a lunch special! They charge you $6.00. Place seems clean, they do a steady stream of business. I saw thier lasagna, which my friend said was ok, but we agreed we would not return or order from again. Too bad. It is so close to work. But with so many other Italian places, it it not acceptable to have such a low quality of product and not care. I mentioned it to the owner, and he just looked at me and said "That is how we make it." My repsonse was OK, I will find a place where they make it better (even frozen pizza is better) and where they care. Oh well. I get tired of the lack of caring in so many restaurants. I have learned to just move on, but do try and share so others won't spend $$ for food they throw away.

I've never ordered their pizza by the slice, but the whole pizza is fantastic. After trying several places around the area, I ordered Monti's one day and brought it home for my picky, Brooklyn-transplant boyfriend (and the man loves his pizza, let me tell you). We both loved it. The crust is thin, just a little chewiness to it, nice sauce, nice cheese, browned well, classic New York style pizza -- how can you go wrong? We have ordered it frequently and always been happy with it. I do have to say that we once ate lunch in-restaurant to try the sandwiches and were not impressed. They were definitely lackluster, overtoasted, underseasoned, and flavorless. Not worth the money. But the pizza is simple, well made, and delicious.

Despite promising myself not to return to this place, a friend wanted to invite me during lunch time. I checked the restaurant inspections app and thought since they had no violation on their last inspection it might have changed. Sadly, just entering inside reminded me of my last experience. The place is still filthy. The kitchen might be OK according to the inspections people but the carpet, tables, chairs, windows and ceilings are dirty. I do not understand how this place is still opened. After waiting 10 minutes for service, I asked my friend to go elsewhere. It would have been just another bad experience.

Have been here for lunch a couple of times, not great. A couple of greasy slices of cardboard to get you through to dinner. Today there was only one person working in the whole place (he said his help called off) The place mats are paper and looked like they might not have been changed because they had crumbs on them. Two stars might be too nice.

Ridiculous how long it took to get our lunch! 45 minutes after ordering we had to ask for our food, to-go containers and the check. We ended up only getting to eat the crappy house salad (iceberg lettuce and canned creamy italian dressing) and having to take the rest to go and we were STILL late getting back to the office! Wonder how long it would have taken if we had not ordered the daily special and/or there was more than 1 other person in the joint?

Just ordered two slice lunch special to go & it came out to $6.50, the slices were so small I ordered two more before I left. Came out to $7.42 ???hmmm now I'm eating these two horrible, overpriced cardboard pieces of bread and cheese & wish I read these reviews first. NEVER AGAIN will I return! $14 for four horrible slices. Anyone that gives this place more than 3 stars has to be lieing. I'm sorry but even the service sucks. The owner took my money and then fir the next customer went to go touch their slices of food to throw in the oven...ummm thats not sanitary

This place is definitely what you would consider a hole in a wall. I've never stayed to eat only take out. But I can say walking in the restaurant can definitely use an updated. Food wise, I only get a few things; wings, chicken parmigiana, garlic rolls, linguini in white calm sauce & the house salad with Italian dressing. Food is always hot and good. I cannot complain.

Lost for words. I was in the area for the night and desperately craving Italian. I called for delivery and the lady who answered didn't have any knowledge of the menu. I placed my order to which she said she would call me back for a total...15 mins later, I called HER back. Another hour passed and I called again to check the status of my dinner. The same lady passed me on to someone else because she was "too busy to answer phone calls". The guy who I was transferred to told me forget my order because they were swamped and added he wasn't coming and hung up. Rude and one hundred percent unprofessional.

I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but couldn't let this one slide. Three of us went to dinner, and tried this place upon a friends recommendation. Well our experience was disgraceful. The food was over priced for a hole in the wall place. My Veal Picatta was entirely too Lemony, to the point where it was mouth puckering. Two of received our food first while the other person had to wait five more minutes. I complained to the waiter about my food, who simply replied with a " I'll tell him" and walked off. Bad service and overpriced food on top of that just warranted this review.

Just ordered delivery pizza from Monti's and it was good! I love pizza, and while there's no place nearby that comes close to NY pizza (the secret is the water), this was quite good. Service was fast, price reasonable, and pizza was packed with toppings.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
